Blending gentle humour with a sense of drama, Melbourne artist Geoff Coleman turns everyday Australian life into richly detailed visual stories. His works often pair people with the houses and streets that surround them, using unusual viewpoints to highlight the connection between personal identity and the places we call home. Across his career, Geoff has exhibited widely, creating a collection of art that celebrates both suburban Australia and the aesthetic perceptions behind his practice.

Geoff’s fascination with artistic expression began in childhood. Visiting museums and galleries he would be lost for hours viewing the many artworks on display. He was also particularly drawn to the freehand craftsmanship of sign-writers—their clean lines and controlled brushwork left a lasting impression. From pencil and inks he moved on to watercolours and painting mediums as the years progressed.
